The Bulgarian technological company Sirma Media – supplier of complex solutions in the field of education and the modern presentation of cultural heritage, has again supported the National competition “Young talents”, organized by the Ministry of education, youth and science. The winners were officially awarded on May 27th at the National centre for preparation of students for Olympiads. Ilian Uzunov, Sirma Media CEO, awarded Georgi Atanasov and Georgi Georgiev from the Natural-mathematics high school „Acad. Ivan Giuzelev”, Gabrovo, for their development of BuilderZ – software for three-dimensional molding, using the graphics library OpenGL. It has been created with the goal of being of use to both novice users and software developers in the area of 3D graphics. The organization of the data base allows for the manipulation of each separate element of a given object, has the possibility to add colors, light and image files and the usage of the system resources is optimized to achieve good functionality. “The National competition “Young talents” is valuable not only because of the support it gives to the brightest youths in an important moment of the lives, but also because of the fact that this encourages all their coevals, promotes knowledge among them as a possible way for their successful realization and finally increases Bulgaria’s chances to position itself in the future knowledge society. That’s why supporting this initiative was a natural step for us and a part of Sirma Group’s policy of supporting the young people in In the national competition participated children from the whole country, who presented their original science ideas before scientists, teachers and their coevals, The projects, awarded the first three places by the jury, will represent Bulgaria at the European competition for young talents – the most prestigious European forum for young scientists, that this year will take place in Lisbon, Portugal.
