The classroom of the future is already operational at the Bulgarian school in Nicosia PDF Print E-mail

Starting form the new school year the Bulgarian school in Nicosia will be one of the most modern schools in Cyprus. The children will study in a new multimedia classroom equipped by Sirma Media, publisher of multimedia knowledge and a part of Sirma Group. The classroom is created according to the concept of Sirma Media’s classroom of the future and will allow the Bulgarian pupils to have access to the latest educational technologies for teaching in the school environment.

The newly created classroom of the future in Nicosia’s old town is equipped with nine laptop-tablets classmate PC from Intel, the world’s leading supplier of CPUs and developer of educational technologies, one interactive whiteboard, a projector and smart software that transfers what’s written on the whiteboard to the screens of all the tablets. The solution gives the students a more natural access to the educational content, facilitates the communication between them and the teachers and encourages them to take a more active part in the educational process, having a better interaction with the educational materials. All technological product were donated by the Cyprian company Salamis Shipping.

The technologies used in the new classroom will not only make the educational process more fun and interesting, but will also increase the efficiency of teaching and acquiring of knowledge, the computer literacy of the students and their motivation to learn “ – explains Galina Kumbaru of the Bulgarian school in Nicosia.

During the next school year the management of the institution is planning to include classes on computer literacy and mathematics following the curriculum of Bulgaria’s Ministry of education, science and youth. There will also be courses in English and Greek.
