On 17.11.2011 г., Thursday, at 16:00 in Sofia’s VHSE „John Atanasov“ was officially presented the new classroom of the future. The concept entirely changes the educational process and allows the computer laboratory to be moved from one classroom to another or to the schoolyard or the park in a matter of minutes. It combines electronic lessons from preschool age to the twelfth grade, developed by the publisher of multimedia knowledge Sirma Media with 24 laptops Intel Classmate PC, optimized educational purposes with 8 hours of battery life and HD screens.

„The idea to use this instrument in the preparation of the students not only on the special subjects, but also in the general subjects, is a very good combination which gives the children the chance to feel the dynamics of technologies “ – said during the opening ceremony Iglika Nedelcheva, headmaster of VHSE „John Atanasov“.

„Events like this are especially important to the Sirma Media team, because they give a meaning to our work during the last several years and demonstrate that our vision of a more modern education is entirely realistic and is being positively accepted by the teachers and decision-makers in this field. We’re convinced that the introduction of the classroom of the future into the Bulgarian schools will contribute to the increase of quality of the educational process, will increase the children’s interest to studying and will contribute to their more successful development in the future“ – said Alexander Angelov, Sirma Media’s marketing manager.

The classroom of the future concept represents a new generation of mobile computer laboratories, developed using the technologies of Intel and the Bulgarian software company Sirma Media. It can be used in every Bulgarian school, optimizing the work of educators, saving expenses to the schools and creating many new possibilities for the students to acquire new knowledge. Due to the huge interest in the pilot project for the implementation of the classroom of the future, which is being carried out since this autumn, the number of schools the technology will be implemented into will be increased to 150.
