The aim of the project is to present new knowledge in regard to two fundamental aspects of the whole literary, social and ecclesiastical activity of Sts Cyril and Methodius that have left deep traces in the culture of the whole of Europe to this day, as well as in the scientific traditions of the European humanitaristics.
For the aims of the project a search for scientific material and the digitalization of unpublished medieval sources on the work of Cyril and Methodius and its traditions (Slavic, Greek, and Latin) must be carried out, as well as a digital repository must be created for the most significant written documents, part of the cultural-historical heritage of Sts Cyril and Methodius.
The digital repository of primal sources on the subject should present about 60 000 pages of digitalized materials, which will be available on the Internet to scientists and researchers from around the world. They will contribute to the acceleration of the researches on the work of Cyril and Methodius not only in Bulgaria, but in the European humanitaristics too, because the materials will be available to scientists from various fields, as well as for educational purposes.

The main aim of the project is to use modern technologies to make available for both science, research and educational purposes and the tourist industry the sacral architecture, the discovered artifacts and the documentation on the royal necropolis “Mogilanska mound” of the Triballi – one of the most powerful Thracian dynasties in Antiquity.
With the help of the multimedia model the most striking finds from the lands of the Triballi and the Thracian cultural historical heritage of the Northwestern region of Bulgaria – the royal necropolis of the Triballi, is made available to the scientists on one hand and to the cultural and educational tourism on the other.
Through the development of a bilingual website, presenting the created multimedia model (text, multimedia, three-dimensional artifacts) a wide and easy access to the scientific documentation on the subject is assured. This documentation has been published in Bulgarian long time ago, but is hard to find even for the Bulgarian scientists and researchers.

Among the technological solutions, used by SIrma Media when working on projects dealing with the digitalization and modern presentation of cultural historic heritage are:
1. Digitalization of big objects (a building, a sepulcher) – photographic panoramic walk; points of interest; additional information etc
2. Digitalization of select objects with smaller dimensions:
- Digital photographing / scanning in high resolution
- Processing of the images
- Creation of a 3D photo animated presentation for each object
- Three-dimensional contactless laser object scanning
3. Development of a web-based environment for the presentation of the digitalized objects – web presentation of the corresponding object, together with all available digitalized materials and accompanying text information.
4. Possibility for the development of an additional system for the management of the meta data of each digitalized object – digital repository. |
