Localization, adaptation and integration of 1000 e-lessons of the Polish publishing house Yound Digital Planet

Young Digital Planet’s e-lessons offer a vast encyclopedic knowledge, reference material, up-to-date information and rich multimedia – animations, simulations, video and audio materials, interactive exercises, accompanying the educational courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Science for 4-12 grades.

In the end of 2007 Sirma Media developed and presented the first 20 pilot localized and adapted YDP e-lessons. They were uploaded for free access and test use on the National educational portal of the Ministry of education and science. Except for the online access, the e-lessons were also distributed on demo CDs that were given to students and teachers on educational fairs, conferences and forums. In 2009 Sirma Media signed a contract with MES for the license rights for usage of software products (e-lessons – student and teacher versions) of “Young Digital Planet (YDP)” on the existing and the newly assembled computer systems in the Bulgarian schools and for the realization of localization and adaptation of the e-lessons and their integration into the National educational portal.

1000 YDP e-lessons were localized and adapted for the project. All the lessons have two versions – student version and teacher version. The student version includes the educational resources with their components – text, images, animations, simulations, interactive exercises, tests, videos. At the end of each lesson the student can check his results and see the right and wrong answers. The teacher version of the e-lessons includes everything from the student version a rich set of tool, allowing the teachers to edit the educational resources on their own (text, image, video, animation etc).

The e-lessons are available for free to all students and teachers in the „Educational resources” section of the National educational portal.
