Sirma Media has been actively cooperating with Intel in the area of education for several years. In 2009 a pilot project for the equipment of one class with the specialized student’s laptops Intel Classmate PC was realized within the initiative “Computer for every student”. CLASSMATE PC is an affordable, fully functional, compact and rugged student’s portable computer, designed to encourage the collaboration among the students and the teachers during the training. For the goals of this project Sirma Media granted one of its product series of educational multimedia content for 1-4 grades. The company team also trained all the teachers of the primary grades from the pilot school to work more efficiently with new technologies and more precisely with digital educational content. For several months the two companies have been actively working on another big joint project for the localization and adaptation of the series of teacher training courses Intel TEACH.

The series “Intel® Teach – Elements” is a set of teacher training courses with stress on practice, they offer rich possibilities for the introduction and implementation of modern teaching practices such as “project-based education” and “work with instruments for Web 2.0”. The benefits, offered by the series of courses for the qualification of the teachers include the possibilities for continuous professional development of the active teachers, as well as the technical possibility of conducting the courses in an on-line environment. The first course of the series - Project-Based Approaches – aims to help the teachers in the process of introduction and implementation in the modern classroom of the main principles of the project-based education.
